Enjoy the view of Onneto
Onneto is a small lake with a circumference of about 2.5 kilometers located at the foot of Mt. Meakan.
The lake, which stands quietly in the woods where internet do not reach, has a mysterious beauty that cannot be described in words, and attracts many people.
There are almost no artificial objects, and if you listen closely, you can feel the sounds and signs of nature. The cries of black woodpeckers, which are designated as a national special natural monument, often echo through the forest.
Depending on where you are, the appearance of the lake and mountains changes greatly.
There are parking spaces of different sizes at multiple spots, so you can enjoy it from various angles!
Spend a blissful time at your favorite spot, just gazing at the lake and mountains.
The mirror surface of the lake that can be seen when the wind stops is also a highlight.
The view of lush forests and mountains reflected on the lake will take your breath away.
Also, if you take a walking path, you can see the lake from the foot of the mountain.
The walking path, including the driving route, is about 3.7 kilometers long, and you can enjoy the forest and the lake in just over an hour.
The forest is also a habitat for wildlife, so please enjoy yourself while keeping a safe distance from each other.
Camping by the lake
If you go further along the driving route, you will find the Onneto campsite.
You are free to light a bonfire, cook, or relax by a lakeside forest.
It's one of the best location to enjoy camping at your own pace while entrusting yourself to nature.
The UPI Onneto (Onneto Campsite Rest House), which also manages the campsite and handles reception, is located just by the campsite, and also provides outdoor goods imported from overseas and light meals(coffe/ice cream/etc) as well as shower booth.
You can spend comfortable time at the camsite.
